We use a simplified barbecue competition format where all awards are decided by attendees! Every attendee is encouraged to try food from the barbecue vendors – they will be given the opportunity to vote ONE TIME per category.

People’s Choice Awards and prizes (all winners and runners up receive plaques):

  • Best Ribs
  • Best Overall by Team
  • Best Overall by Restaurant
  • Best Non BBQ Item
  • Best Sauce (determined by a judge)

As the competition is all People’s Choice, participants must have ribs for sale to festival attendees. Because this is a one-day festival, no health inspection or permit is required for the sale of food.

A hand wash station must be in each booth. This may be an alcohol-based sanitizer wash. Plastic gloves, aprons, and hair nets are recommended, but not required.

Any flammable materials must be kept outside your tent. The fire marshal will be on site.  Each booth must have a 5lb BC or K type fire extinguisher

Competitors must provide their own tents, tables and chairs, and are responsible for clean-up of their booths. You are expected to operate in a space roughly 15’ x 15’.  If you need additional space, please let us know in advance.

The festival will take place rain or shine.

Competitors agree to indemnify and hold harmless Racks by the Tracks, its owners, employees, agents and assigns, for any loss occasioned by them due to the action or inaction of Competitors.  Except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct, the liability of Racks by the Tracks, its owners, employees, agents and assigns, shall be limited to the refund of any entry fee paid.
